Title: American Painting: From its Beginnings to the Armory Show
Author: Jules David Prown
Publisher: Skira
Copyright Date: 1969
Type: Hardcover
Book condition: Fair
Jacket condition: Fair
Notes: X-library book has had a liberal amount of tape applied to mylar and jacket, which has yellowed. Mylar was too short for jacket, leaving the bottom edge exposed and allowing some wear and short tears. Library sticker on jacket spine, a second on the back cover on the mylar. Library pocket, "withdrawn" and date stamps on the front end paper. Library stamps to top edge of book. Light soiling to page edges - not surfaces. Beautiful color plated tipped in throughout. This is a big, impressive book, and in spite of its cosmetic flaws, is a fantastic overview of pre-20th century American art. A wonderful reference, priced appropriately for its condition. We also have the companion book, "American Painting: The Twentieth Century" available in similar condition.
